No reference to quality sites would be complete without a mention of the next site - www.tourbus.com

This site has something for everyone. Not this week maybe, nor next week, but over time, a wide variety of subjects are dealt with. The best use of this site is made by subscribing to the weekly newsletter. Every Thursday or so you will be sent an Email with news and views on the sites to visit, discussions about virus's, state of the economy etc. American based, but very interesting.

And now, a search facility which you can speak to, easily - www.askjeeves.co.uk

Plenty of search engines and directories out there. It's a bit of a minefield. This search facility stands apart from the rest, since you can input your query, just as you would say it. e.g. "Where can I get a new ribbon for my clapped out Panasonic printer?". Submit the question and you will receive back information on various sites to go to. Some get right to the point, others a bit obscure. Whether this suits your purposes, is for you to decide. I found the site very helpful, on many occasions. Also available ".com", which covers a wider spectrum.

If buying on the Web is a new experience, this site is one of the best -  www.amazon.co.uk

This huge site started off selling books, which they did admirably. They now sell other things as well, which I shall leave you to discover. The service they give you is second to none. Get your Credit Card handy - there is bound to be something you fancy.

How about this one for Scottish "surfers" - www.ancestralscotland.com

Be warned. This site will damage your wallet via your phone bill. I visited this site and was totally absorbed for about 1 hour. You will not be able to resist the charm of this site. It is immaterial which direction you wish to go from the choices at this site, but I guarantee you will be hooked and will return for another "peek" ----- forget the phone bill.... I used to own a variety of scooters, and this is the place to see them - www.scootermania.co.uk

With pictures, text and links to other associated sites, these pages give some insight as to scooters past and present. Limited appeal to mainly scooter enthusiasts, but an interesting site nevertheless.

I suppose you could say, this is the motorist's best friend - www.halfords.com

As you would expect, everything here for the motorist. A powerful search facility within the site, to locate any part for your vehicle. If they ain't got it they can get it for you, usually quite quickly, and deliver it straight to your door. Not as exciting as actually being in the store, but a very useful site. nevertheless. On-line ordering facilities.

If you would like to access the news on-line, try here - www.fish4news.co.uk

This of course is another news site. But with a difference. You can certainly get national news and other various bits and pieces, but enter your postcode, and you can browse the local news. Quite an interesting site, once you get the hang of it.
