THE  HUKA  FALLS in NORTH ISLAND NEW ZEALAND

THIS NARROW GULLY DIRECTS WATER FLOWING FROM LAKE TAUPO AND FORMS THE WAIKATO RIVER -  NEW ZEALAND'S LONGEST RIVER

THE WATER IS PASSING THROUGH THE GULLY AND DOWN OVER THE FALLS  AT  APPROX. 200,000 LITRES PER SECOND

THE FALLS ARE NOT A VERY LARGE DROP BUT THE SPEED OF THE WATER  AND THE NOISE CREATED  MAKES A TREMENDOUS NATURAL SPECTACLE
