The TranzCoastal express train runs from Christchurch up the east coast of the South Island
in New Zealand, all the way to Picton.

Departing at 0700, the train arrives in Picton around 1230. The ferry is waiting at Picton to
transport you via the Cook Strait to Wellington, and departs at 1345.

This journey takes around 3 hours depending on sea conditions.

The pictures above show the 'Interislander' ferry at Picton, ready to depart, and some shots en-route.
