This imposing clock tower was completed in 1839.
The clock came from Banff, and this was the clock when it was at Banff, that was put forward
an hour, so that the famous freebooter 'MacPherson' could be hanged. His pardon was on it's
way but since the clock was put forward by the Sheriff Lord Braco, the pardon arrived too late.

Rome was built on Seven Hills.  Dufftown is a town with Seven Stills and one lesser known.
Glendullan, Mortlach, Convalmore, Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Dufftown, Parkmore and the lesser known Kinninvie

The 'Angels Share' - In the process of maturation over a long number of years valuable drams are lost to the atmosphere through evaporation. What a shame.

 DUFFTOWN distillery, or more correctly DUFFTOWN-GLENLIVET, is referred to locally sometimes as PITTYVAICH after the name of a farm near the distillery.
