MARCH 2005

This exceptional load was pictured in a lay-by near McVeighs restaurant in the Glens of Foudland on Friday 4th March 2005.

Picture shows part of a windmill waiting for conveyance to the windfarm site, which is up the hill opposite Bainshole, about 1 mile further north on the A96. This is Aberdeenshire's first windfarm costing 15 million with 22 turbines planned.

The parts for the windmills
are stockpiled at Aberdeen
Harbour and are moved to
the site, along the A96
under Police escort.
