A VIEW FROM THE NEWTON GARRY CLIMBING LANE LAY BY

The Newton Garry climbing lane was installed to improve the flow of traffic up the
long haul south of Huntly. The view from the lay by is outstanding, and on a clear
day you can see an exceptional distance. Some interesting points in the picture.
Check the traffic climbing the A96 on the extreme left of the picture. In the far
distance around picture centre is Aberchirder or 'Foggieloan' as it is known locally
more obvious in the full size picture but not so obvious on the smaller size picture
on this slightly murky day.

MALCOLMBURN WAREHOUSES AT MULBEN APRIL 2010

Very heavy snow falls in the winter of 2009/10 caused devastation at these
whisky warehouses at Mulben near Keith. View is shown of the ongoing operations
to try to stabilise the buildings after approximately 30 of the roofs were severely
damaged by the weight of the very heavy snow falls. The outriggers are being put
in place by a demolition company which specialises in these procedures.

THE CROMARTY FIRTH AND THE CROMARTY BRIDGE

This panorama is a composition of 41 separate pictures all stitched together in an
operation which took some considerable time to assemble. The Firth forms one
of the safest and most commodious anchorages in the North of Scotland and
Invergordon, at the North end, was once a major base for the Royal Navy's
Home Fleet. The Cromarty Bridge, basically a causeway, forms part of the A9
leading north.
